Covid-19

My priority as a therapist is to keep myself and my clients as safe as possible.   The information below outlines what I am doing to ensure your safety and what is expected of you as my client.  I have carefully risk-assessed my practice and have comprehensive cleaning and hygiene protocols in place. I wear a face mask and visor, as required by law.  l ask all clients to answer a short Covid-19 screening questionnaire and adhere to some simple requirements, designed to comply with the law and, most importantly, to keep us all as safe as possible.  My guidelines have been developed from trusted sources: NHS, Government Guideline for Close Contact Work, my Professional Bodies (IFPA &IFA) and my insurance company.  As guidelines change I will review and amend my procedures.

What I am doing:

  • I will be open for business only when the government legally allows it

  • I have undertaken a full risk assessment and put measures in place to manage them.

  • I will wear the appropriate officially stipulated PPE (I wear a face mask, visor and apron)

  • I have a QR Code displayed for the NHS Covid-19 App

  • I will wash my hands, forearms and elbows before and after treatments.

  • I will ventilate and clean the treatment studio before and after every appointment

  • I will thoroughly wash all laundry used at every appointment.

  • I will keep face to face appointment time to a maximum of 60 minutes, the rest of the appointment time will be on Zoom or by telephone prior to coming to the treatment studio.

  • I will take my temperature every working day, and take regular Rapid Lateral Flow Coronavirus tests

  • I will not see clients if I have any symptoms.

  • If I develop symptoms I will get tested and self isolate as required.

  • I will inform you if I develop symptoms and have seen you in the last 14 days.

  • I am respecting social distancing and following all government guidelines at work and in my social life.

What I ask of you:

  • That you understand what the symptoms of Covid-19 are

  • To inform me if you develop symptoms, or have been in close contact with someone that has, after booking and prior to an appointment

  • To inform me if you develop symptoms within 14 days after your appointment and please inform me of results of testing you may have had or do have

  • To be respectful of the social distancing guidelines

  • To be aware that information may need to be released to local health protection authorities or track and trace

  • To ensure good standard of personal hygiene (preferably recently showered and wearing fresh clothing for your appointment)

  • To wear any PPE officially stipulated or that you would personally like to

  • To bring only essential items to your appointment, eg keys, payment method

  • To bring your own drinking water

  • In the treatment studio do not touch door handles or light switches as much as possible but rather allow me to do so

  • Use the hand sanitiser provided upon arrival and before leaving

  • To have your temperature taken at the start of every appointment

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your cooperation.  Whilst these measure may seem like a bit of an inconvenience, especially as many people are now fully vaccinated and restrictions are beginning to be lifted,  because of the infectious nature of Covid-19 (and its variants) they remain a necessity for me to safely operate my business and stop the spread of the virus.  So until circumstances change, these are the protocols I will continue to use.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions in advance.
